NLP
Programming For Beginners
How the program works:
Neuro-linguistic programming involves the use of language
and communication based techniques and strategies to alter
or modify the mid set of a person. It does not work along
the paradigms set by a model or theory. The initial experiment
by the creators Richard Bandler and John Grinder way back
in the 1970s was aimed at recreating successful patterns of
behavior and communication within persons, which distinguished
them from their peers. There is of course much debate on the
applications and the therapy like approach, nevertheless,
Neuro-linguistic programming or NLP is working for people
who want to lose weight and even those dealing with a lot
of stress.
Neuro-linguistic programming or NLP for beginners:
Today, Neuro-linguistic programming or NLP is being successfully
applied within specially conducted seminars and workshops
for a target audience and even within do-it-yourself books
and audio programs. There might be a great deal of difference
between the range of training and standards, but despite the
disagreement, Neuro-linguistic programming or NLP works very
well if the beginners are exposed to its root principles.
Neuro-linguistic programming brings about an increase in behavioral
choice. Its application for beginners includes:
Helping them cope with their circumstance specific problems,
feelings and outcomes of their actions via visual and auditory
systems and representations and also that of the gustatory
and olfactory systems.
Enabling the beginner to effectively communicate; not just
by listening to and responding to what someone says, but by
responding to the verbal communication and also the non-verbal
cues.
Teaching the beginner certain language patterns to help clarify
distorted communication and to specify the mental make up.
The language is also taught in a way that it can be applied
to reframing beliefs and setting goals that are sensory specific.
Assisting the beginner in Neuro-linguistic programming or
NLP to identify the state within which he or she sets a goal
or chooses a course of action. There are many techniques that
even enhance th states, by tapping associations with personal
experience or by imitating others.
Neuro-linguistic programming or NLP is being looked upon
as an advance in psychotherapy and counseling research and
clinical psychology. The applications imply a basis in neurology,
computer science and linguistics. It is a form of psychotherapy
in mental health practice. NLP or Neuro-linguistic programming
is supported by its practitioners and has influenced other
interventions a great deal. Its models and tools are being
used in business communication and management training. It
has become an indispensable part of teaching and executive
coaching.
The basic principles or presuppositions of NLP include:
* Even a negative thought or behavior has a positive function
at some level.
* The individual is different from his or her behavior.
* The meaning of the communication is the response it produces.
* Behaviour in any form is a kind of communication.
* Some choice is always better than no choice and more is
better than less.
* People have all the internal resources they need to succeed.
* Multiple descriptions are better than one.
* One individual's reality is not the same as any other's.
The application of these principles in a clinical setting
and the regularity of approach automatically change the mind
set of a participant into what he or she desired as the outcome
of the therapy.
